The secret isn’t the microwave. It’s the cushion of air underneath it.
Every microwave body sculpting machine uses the same energy. What separates them is a single engineering decision: how do you protect the skin while cooking the fat beneath it? Get that wrong — too cold — and you cool away your own results. Lysiwave gets it exactly right.

The Problem Every Microwave Device Has to Solve
Microwaves at 2.45 GHz do something genuinely clever: they pass through your skin with very little resistance and detonate their heat directly inside the fat underneath. That part of the story is the same on every microwave machine on the market. The problem — the part nobody puts on a brochure — is that the energy has to travel through your skin to get there, and skin left unprotected at those temperatures would burn.
So every microwave device needs a way to protect the surface. And this single design choice is what decides whether you walk out with fat reduction alone, or fat reduction plus real skin tightening.

The Goldilocks Zone: Too Cold, Too Hot, or Just Right
Skin has a temperature “sweet spot” for building new collagen — and it’s a narrow one. Below it, fibroblasts (the cells that manufacture collagen) stay dormant. Above it, you risk burns. In between, at roughly 40–42°C, they switch on: a 2006 study showed heating human dermal fibroblasts to 42°C significantly accelerated type I collagen production, driven by a heat-activated chaperone protein called HSP47 — and the same mechanism has since been confirmed in newer reviews.
| Temperature | Result | |
| Other microwave devices | ~5°C | Too cold — dermis stays dormant, minimal tightening |
| LysiWave | 38–42°C | The Goldilocks zone — comfortable and collagen-active |
| Unprotected skin | 41°C+ at surface | Too hot — burn risk, requires active cooling |
The collagen-building window is narrow. A plate chilled to ~5°C protects skin by parking the dermis well below it. Lysiwave’s cooled-oxygen cushion protects skin while parking the dermis inside it.
Chilling your skin to 5°C doesn’t just protect it — it switches your fibroblasts off. Lysiwave cools just enough to keep you safe and comfortable, and not one degree more.
Just sufficient cooling. Maximum tightening.
Why Oxygen, Specifically, Is the Unlock
A chilled metal plate is a blunt instrument — it removes heat aggressively and keeps removing it for as long as it’s in contact with your skin, which is exactly why it has to run so cold to keep the whole session safe. Lysiwave replaces the plate with something far more controllable: a continuous stream of concentrated, cooled oxygen.
- Zeolite-filtered — ambient air is concentrated to 90%+ pure oxygen through a molecular sieve, not raw room air
- Precisely dosed — a gas cushion cools by degrees, not by contact conduction, far gentler and easier to calibrate than a metal plate
- Biologically active — oxygen at this concentration boosts microcirculation and skin permeability, so the cooling medium becomes a treatment in itself
- No gel, no residue — a cushion of air needs nothing to bridge it to your skin. Dress and go
Only around 6% of the microwave’s thermal effect reaches the very surface under the oxygen cushion — enough to keep it comfortable, nowhere near enough to blunt the dermis underneath. A live sensor in the handpiece backs this up in real time, cutting microwave emission the instant skin temperature passes 41°C. You get the safety of a hard cut-off with none of the collateral cooling of a permanently chilled plate.
40–42°C fibroblast activation: in-vitro human dermal fibroblast study plus 31-subject clinical arm, 2006; mechanism (HSP47-mediated collagen chaperoning) corroborated in J Clin Med 2022 review. 6% surface thermal effect / 90%+ oxygen concentration / 41°C safety cut-off: manufacturer technical specification, Biotec Italia.
Four Layers, One Pass — Why Results Compound Instead of Stacking Sessions
Because the dermis stays active instead of being frozen out of the process, a single Lysiwave session does the combined work that a plate-cooled machine needs separate, sequential sessions to approach. This is the real reason results feel faster — you are not waiting for session after session to slowly accumulate fat loss alone. Every session is already doing four jobs.
| Layer 1 — Skin surface | Protected, comfortable, hydrated by the oxygen itself |
| Layer 2 — Dermis | Held at 40–42°C: collagen contracts now, rebuilds for weeks |
| Layer 3 — Fibrous septae | Heated enough to soften the bands that cause cellulite dimpling |
| Layer 4 — Deep fat | 55–60°C: triglycerides break down and clear via the lymphatics |
Compare that to a cold-plate system: with the dermis actively chilled, the tightening effect has to arrive indirectly, as residual heat conducts upward from the fat layer after the fact. It’s a slower, weaker signal reaching a layer that was never the treatment’s real target in the first place. Lysiwave sends the signal directly, on every pass.
Lysiwave vs Other Microwave Devices
| Other microwave devices | LysiWave | |
| Cooling method | Chilled metal contact plate, ~5°C | Cooled, concentrated oxygen cushion, ~38°C |
| Dermal temperature | Actively suppressed below the collagen-active window | Held inside the 40–42°C window throughout |
| Tightening pathway | Indirect — residual conducted heat, after the fact | Direct dermal heating, every session |
| Cellulite bands | Reached mainly in the deep pass | Reached at surface and depth simultaneously |
| Coupling medium | Gel or oil | None — the oxygen cushion replaces it entirely |
| Result per session | Primarily fat reduction | Fat reduction + tightening + cellulite improvement, together |
| Safety control | Continuous plate cooling | Live 41°C sensor cut-off |
Comparison reflects design characteristics and mechanism as published in each manufacturer’s own technical materials and peer-reviewed literature on plate-cooled microwave systems; no specific competitor device is named.
What This Means for You
Faster visible change
Because tightening starts working on session one instead of waiting for cumulative fat loss to show, many clients see a noticeably firmer, smoother result the same week they start.
A more complete result per visit
You leave every session having addressed fat, skin laxity and cellulite together — not one problem at a time across separate treatment types.
A genuinely comfortable experience
Clients describe LysiWave as closer to a hot-stone massage than a medical procedure. Several fall asleep mid-session.
No residue, no prep
No gel to wipe off, no waiting for a coupling medium to dry. In, treated, out.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does cooling matter so much for a microwave treatment?
Because the skin the energy passes through on the way to the fat has to be protected somehow — and however that’s done directly determines whether the dermis underneath stays biologically active. Too much cooling, and the layer that builds your tightening result is switched off along with the discomfort.
Isn’t colder always safer?
Colder is safer for the surface, but it isn’t free — the same chilling that protects skin also parks the dermis below the temperature where fibroblasts build new collagen. Lysiwave’s oxygen cushion is calibrated to protect the surface while keeping the dermis inside its active window, backed by a live sensor that cuts emission if skin ever exceeds 41°C.
Does the oxygen itself do anything, or is it just for cooling?
Both. Concentrated to over 90% and delivered cool, it protects the skin surface — and separately, oxygen at this concentration is associated with improved microcirculation and increased skin hydration and permeability, so the cooling medium contributes to the result rather than just enabling it.
Will I need fewer sessions than other microwave treatments?
What we can say honestly: each Lysiwave session does more per visit, because fat, dermis and cellulite bands are all addressed together rather than fat alone. Many clients see a visible change after the first session. Course length still depends on your goal and starting point — we’ll give you a realistic session count at assessment rather than a marketing number.
Does it hurt?
No. You feel deep warmth with a cool breeze on the surface — no numbing cream, no needles. Most clients describe it as closer to a hot-stone massage.
Is there any downtime?
None. Mild redness for a few hours in some clients, nothing more. You go straight back to work or the gym.
