Lysiwave vs Onda Pro: two machines built on the same microwave physics, separated by one design choice about your skin — the choice that decides how much tightening, firming and cellulite change you actually get.
The Onda Phenomenon
If you follow Korean aesthetics — and in Singapore, most of us do — you have seen the microwave wave arrive. Onda made microwave slimming famous: heavy clinic marketing out of Korea, celebrity endorsements, and a promise that lands because it is true. Microwaves at 2.45 GHz are absorbed preferentially by fat, heating it directly while largely sparing the tissue on the way down.
Onda, built by the Italian manufacturer DEKA, has peer-reviewed publications behind it, a large installed base across Asia, and visible early results. If you have had a good Onda experience, nothing in this article is meant to take that away from you.
One honest note that applies to the whole category — our machine included. Microwave contouring is young. Published studies across microwave devices remain small — cohorts of a few dozen, mostly without control groups, often with manufacturer-affiliated authors — and one long-term Onda follow-up study was retracted by its journal in January 2026. None of that makes the technology bad; it means results rest more on clinical experience than on the large evidence base fat freezing enjoys. It is exactly why we trialled these machines on real skin before buying one.
The Design Fork: Chilled Plate, or Cooled Oxygen
Heating fat from outside the body creates one unavoidable problem: the energy must pass through your skin. Every microwave device has to protect the surface — and there are two ways to do it. This is where the two machines part company. (Temperatures below are as published in each manufacturer’s own materials; illustration simplified for clarity.)

Onda Pro · Plate Cooling — Protected, and Subdued
A chilled plate presses on the skin throughout the session.
| Onda Pro temperatures | |
| Skin surface | ≈5°C |
| Dermis (tightening zone) | 25–30°C |
| Fat layer | ≈60°C |
Cooling is not a scalpel. Chill the surface and you also chill the dermis — the very layer where collagen contracts and rebuilds. It is protected and switched down at the same time.
Lysiwave · Oxygen Cooling — Protected, and Treated
A cushion of cooled, concentrated oxygen streams across the skin. No plate. No gel.
| Lysiwave temperatures | |
| Skin surface | ≈38°C |
| Dermis (tightening zone) | ≈42°C |
| Fat layer | ≈60°C |
The surface stays comfortably cool — a sensor pauses emission above 41°C — while the dermis sits in the warm window where contraction and new collagen actually happen. The fat below still reaches the mid-50s.
Same physics at depth. Opposite treatment of the skin. That is why an oxygen-cooled system can ask more of the dermis — firmer skin, better texture, more meaningful cellulite change — without giving up the deep fat effect.
In the Treatment Room: What Clients Actually Feel
Onda Pro — as clients describe it
“Cool on the surface, heat building underneath — with a tingling, mildly electrical feeling.”
A distinctive sensation most clients tolerate comfortably.
Lysiwave — as clients describe it
“A gentle, comfortable warmth over the skin with deep heat beneath — like a hot-stone treatment.”
Several clients have fallen asleep mid-session.
Stated plainly: what follows is our clinical observation across clients treated at our medspa — not a published study, and individual experience varies. For the same client profile, we see a more obvious early change with Lysiwave — in cellulite texture, facial contouring along the jawline, and body firmness — than with plate-cooled microwave treatment. It is what the mechanism predicts, it is what our measurements and photographs show us, and it is exactly the kind of claim that deserves a proper dataset behind it — which we are building.
The Company Behind It: A Seasoned Engineering House, Not a Trend
A machine is only as good as the company that must stand behind it for the next decade. Biotec Italia is not a newcomer riding a wave: it has been designing and manufacturing energy-based aesthetic devices in Vicenza, Italy since 1993, holds multiple patents — including the microwave-plus-oxygen delivery at the heart of Lysiwave — and ships worldwide. When we evaluated Lysiwave, we did it the slow way: demo, training, treated skin, measured outcomes. Then we bought it.
- 1993 — Founded in Vicenza, Italy
- 60+ countries exported to
- 30,000+ devices shipped worldwide
- Patented microwave + oxygen delivery

Prices in Singapore (2026)
We would rather you compare course against course than session against session: a Lysiwave programme frequently costs the same as — or less than — a shorter course elsewhere, while letting us treat more generously and more often. Your exact programme and price are confirmed at assessment.
Lysiwave · OZ Aesthetic — S$180–300 per treatment, by area & programme
- No gel, no consumables, no add-ons
- 4–8 sessions, 2–4 per month
- Fat, cellulite & firming in one platform
- Comfortable enough to sleep through
Onda Pro · Singapore market — S$300–600 per session, typical range
- Published protocols: 3–4 sessions per area
- Pricing varies by clinic and area
- Consumables built into session cost
The Honest Bit: What Lysiwave Will Ask of You
The same honesty we apply to every heat-based treatment applies here. Microwave contouring empties and shrinks fat cells rather than removing them, so the result is maintained by a steady weight and lifestyle — hold your side and it holds.
If your goal is a permanent structural reduction of a fat pocket regardless of lifestyle, that is a different mechanism and a different machine: our Cooltech Define fat freezing does exactly that. For many clients the strongest plan is both, in sequence — fat freezing for volume first, Lysiwave for skin and texture second.
Results Are the Only Argument That Matters — Come and Feel the Difference
We trialled both approaches to microwave body contouring, we measured, and in our hands the oxygen-cooled design delivered the better client experience and the more visible early results. That is our opinion, formed the expensive way — you are welcome to test it against your own skin.
Frequently Asked Questions: Lysiwave vs Onda Pro
Is Lysiwave the same as Onda?
They share the same 2.45 GHz microwave energy and the same deep effect on fat. The core difference is skin protection: Onda uses a chilled contact plate, while Lysiwave uses a cushion of cooled oxygen — which keeps the surface comfortable without chilling the dermis, where skin tightening is generated.
Does Lysiwave hurt?
No. Clients describe a gentle surface warmth with deep heat beneath, and a temperature sensor pauses the emission if the skin exceeds 41°C. There is no downtime — mild redness or warmth for a few hours is typical.
How many Lysiwave sessions will I need?
Programmes typically run four to eight sessions, two to four per month depending on whether the goal is fat reduction, cellulite or firming, with a maintenance session around every six months.
Is Lysiwave or fat freezing better for me?
Different questions, different answers. If your goal is a permanent reduction of a pinchable fat pocket, cryolipolysis removes fat cells for good. If your goal is firmer skin, smoother cellulite and contour with total comfort, Lysiwave is the stronger fit — and many clients sequence both.
Who should not have Lysiwave?
It is not suitable in pregnancy or breastfeeding, with pacemakers or metal implants in the treatment area, active cancer, or serious vascular, renal or hepatic disease, among other conditions we screen for in full at assessment.
